Automate GeM Portal Tender Data Extraction into Google Sheets

I need an end-to-end pipeline that continuously pulls live tender information from the Government e-Marketplace (GeM) portal and posts it straight into a Google Sheet the moment a change occurs. The flow must run unattended, handling connection, extraction and write-back without manual triggers.
The Google Sheet will act as the single source of truth, so every new tender or status change should appear or update there in real time. The sheet must stay organised as a structured table with clear column headers so downstream reports can reference it without additional cleanup.
Data points to capture
• Tender ID and Title
• Tender Details and Specifications
• Closing Date and Status
Technical notes
– If GeM exposes an API, please connect directly; otherwise, implement a reliable, non-intrusive scraper (Python + Selenium/Playwright, headless Chrome, etc.) with rate-limit awareness.
– Authorised log-in, cookies and session renewals need to be managed automatically.
– Push updates to the Sheet through Google Apps Script, the Sheets API or Google Cloud Functions—whatever delivers the lowest latency while keeping maintenance simple.
– Include basic logging, error handling and an alert (email or Slack) if the job fails or the portal structure changes.
Deliverables
1. Clean, well-commented source code and any deployment scripts.
2. A live Google Sheet populated in real time with the three data fields above.
3. README covering setup, required credentials and how to modify the polling frequency should we ever move away from live updates.
4. Quick video or live demo proving that a newly published or edited tender on GeM appears in the Sheet within the agreed interval.
Acceptance criteria
• New tenders and status changes reach the Sheet in under one minute from detection.
• All specified fields are captured accurately and placed under the correct headers.
• Solution runs for 24 hours without manual intervention and logs no unhandled errors.
If you already have experience integrating government portals with Google Sheets or have worked around GeM’s particular quirks, please let me know—otherwise, a concise plan and realistic timeline will do.
