Audio Data Collection Specialist – Group Meeting Recordings

I’m running a 7 week speech-data project and I need someone who can reliably capture unscripted conversations among small groups of English speakers. The job is straightforward: bring 3–6 Native or Fluent speakers into the same room, let them talk naturally, and record every voice twice—once through Zoom on a laptop or phone and once through an individual lapel or other close-talk microphone.
For each session I need the raw .m4a files from Zoom, the parallel close-mic tracks, and a short JSON that notes speaker IDs, date, duration, and general topic. I’ll provide the exact file-naming and folder structure; as long as you follow it, you’re free to organise the meetings however you like. We pay USD 15–18 per finished audio hour, and you can deliver as much as you’re able during the project window.
Freelancers will need to submit 5-10 minute small sample recordings as part of their proposal to evaluate quality before proceeding.
You should already have (or be able to source):
• a laptop or phone capable of running Zoom locally
• one lapel or other close-talk microphone for each participant
• reliable access to groups of English speakers willing to chat spontaneously
When you reply, let me know:
• how many finished hours you can supply each week
• the mix of Native versus Fluent speakers you can recruit
• the specific microphones or recorders you plan to use
Clear audio, correct labelling, and on-time delivery are the only acceptance criteria. If you can keep that standard, we can start as soon as you have a group ready to talk.
