AI Data Collection Participant – POV Video Recording

About the Project
TSMG is recruiting participants for a pilot Artificial Intelligence (AI) data collection project.
The purpose of this project is to collect high-quality first-person (egocentric) video recordings of everyday household activities. The collected data will support the development of next-generation AI and robotics technologies by providing real-world examples of human interactions with objects and home environments.
What You’ll Do
Participants will capture everyday household activities from a first-person perspective, following the instructions and guidelines provided for the project.
Typical activities may include:
• First-person (POV) recording using a head-mounted smartphone or equivalent device
• Recording must reflect natural human viewpoint
• Handheld, tripod, or surface-mounted recordings are NOT allowed
• Preparing and cooking meals
• Cleaning and tidying the home
• Doing laundry and ironing
• Unpacking and organizing groceries
• Arranging household items
• Other routine activities around the home
Visibility & Framing Rules:
• Hands and objects must be clearly visible at all times
• No blurred or out-of-focus footage
• No faces visible (including mirrors, photos, reflections)
• No IDs, documents, personal data
Content Rules:
• Hands and relevant objects should remain clearly visible throughout the recording.
• No idle time longer than 3 seconds. Record continuously while actively performing the task. Avoid pauses or idle periods longer than 3 seconds.
• Only meaningful household tasks (kitchen, living room, bedroom, bathroom)
• No eating, drinking, washing hands, sitting idle, or unrelated activities
• Raw video files only. Do not trim, edit, add filters, overlays, effects, or text. Original audio must remain intact.
No prior experience is required.
Participant Requirements
To participate, you must:
• Reside in the USA, Canada, Australia or South Asia
• Be 18 years of age or older
• Have a compatible recording device
• Be able to follow the recording instructions and upload completed files
Compatible Recording Devices
You must have at least one of the following:
• iPhone 12 or newer
• Android smartphone with Android 13 or later that supports:
o Full HD video (1920 × 1080)
o At least 30 fps
o Optical or electronic image stabilization
• Head-mounted action camera, such as:
o GoPro HERO 10 or newer
o DJI Osmo Action 4 or newer
o Insta360 Ace Pro or a similar device
Recommended Device Specifications
• At least 128 GB of available storage
• Stable video recording with minimal shaking
• A working microphone
• Reliable internet connection for uploading recordings
Compensation
• USD 5 per approved hour of recording. Payment is based on recording hours that meet all project quality and content requirements and are approved by the QA team.
