Hi,
I’m looking for a developer who can take over an existing website project that has recently been completed and is now entering its final launch and ongoing development phase.
The website is mariannameccariello.com.
The current stack includes:
- Astro as the front-end framework
- Sanity as the CMS/content infrastructure
- GitHub for the codebase and version control
- Cloudflare for hosting/deployment
- custom HTML/CSS/JavaScript front-end components and interactions
- API/form integrations
- an existing technical SEO structure, including metadata, canonical URLs and structured data
The site itself is already built, so we are not looking for someone to redesign or rebuild it from scratch.
What we need is a developer who is comfortable taking over an existing codebase, understanding how it has been structured, and improving it without unnecessarily changing the architecture.
At the moment, the most urgent work is mainly in two areas:
1. Front-end adjustments and fixes, both desktop and mobile. The website includes sophisticated animations and scroll-based interactions, so strong experience in advanced animated and interactive front-end development is essential.
2. Improving the Sanity Studio/site-builder side of the project so that we can become as autonomous as reasonably possible in managing the website. This includes Sanity schema customization, Studio configuration, and seamless integration with Astro.
Our objective is to be able to edit content, images, and main page elements or sections through Sanity without having to involve a developer every time we need to make a normal website update.
For this reason, the developer should be highly skilled in:
- Astro front-end development;
- Sanity Studio customization and schema design;
- Advanced animations and interactive front-end elements.
There is also an important SEO component. The new website is part of a rebranding from our established domain, makedaweddingplanner.com, to mariannameccariello.com. Our intention is to migrate gradually using carefully planned redirects while preserving as much as possible of the SEO authority, rankings, and existing value of the old website. Practical knowledge of technical SEO (301 redirects, domain/site migrations) would be highly desirable during this phase but remains secondary to core development skills.
The ideal profile would therefore have strong experience with:
Astro + Sanity + advanced front-end development + GitHub + Cloudflare + technical SEO/site migrations.
For the immediate phase, the priorities are:
1. Front-end corrections and improvements;
2. Improving the Sanity site builder so that we can manage the website more independently;
3. Assisting us with the final launch and technical issues as they arise;
4. Supporting the gradual migration from the old domain to the new one.
We would also require the developer to be fluent in technical English, both written and spoken, and comfortable discussing development workflows (GitHub), deployments (Cloudflare), Sanity configuration/customization (schemas), Astro-Sanity integration, animations/interactions, and technical SEO directly with us.
Responsiveness and availability are particularly important. We do not expect permanent availability but need clear communication and reasonably fast turnaround times when issues arise.
In terms of working arrangement: our preference would be ongoing monthly support rather than working exclusively on individual tickets. Ideally structured as a monthly retainer with agreed hours or larger tasks handled through separate milestones when necessary. We are flexible if a developer prefers starting with individual milestones while becoming familiar with our codebase first.
Our objective is ultimately to establish a reliable long-term relationship rather than repeatedly hiring different developers for isolated interventions.
We are ready to start immediately.
