This project covers the complete CAD and engineering documentation for a medium-duty dump trailer that will haul agricultural produce. The design must integrate a hydraulic lift system for quick unloading at packing sheds and field edges, while staying compact enough for standard farm pickups or small tractors.
Key design targets
• Robust yet lightweight frame sized for typical fruit & vegetable crates
• Single hydraulic lift system, cylinder sizing and mounting points fully detailed
• Clear tipping angles and center-of-gravity calculations to ensure stable dumping on uneven ground
• Axle, suspension and brake selection matched to the loaded weight of fresh produce (show calculations)
• Corrosion-resistant material call-outs; food-safe bed coating where produce may contact the floor
• Compliance with common farm-road lighting and safety regulations
Deliverables
1. 3D parametric model (SolidWorks or Inventor native file plus STEP)
2. Complete 2D fabrication drawings: cut lists, weld symbols, GD&T, hole tables, hardware specs
3. Hydraulic circuit diagram with hose lengths and recommended pump/valve specs
4. Bill of Materials in spreadsheet form, grouped by sub-assembly
5. PDF drawing set ready for shop floor use
Acceptance
The model must open with no errors, drawings must rebuild cleanly, and every part must reference a line item in the BOM. A short calculation note (PDF) should justify axle rating, tipping force and factor of safety.
If you prefer to use AutoCAD Mechanical, that is acceptable provided STEP/IGES and fully dimensioned PDFs are also supplied. Options such as heavy-duty flooring or side dumping capability can be left as modular features but should not complicate the base design.
Draft files are welcome for early feedback; final sign-off happens once dimensions are verified against my crate sizes and the hydraulic system shows a 25 % safety margin on load.
