36-Page Local News Magazine

I’m putting together a 36-page magazine devoted entirely to local news and I’d like you to take it from blank canvas to press-ready file. The content mix is already defined: in every issue readers expect solid coverage of Politics, Sports and Entertainment happening right here in our community. Think city-hall decisions, high-school championships and hometown cultural events told through engaging, story-driven features rather than quick snippets.

Here’s what I need from you:
• Original reporting or well-sourced rewrites for each section, balanced so the three pillars get roughly equal space across the thirty-six pages.
• A story-focused layout that flows like a narrative—full-bleed openers, pull quotes, photo essays and sidebars that support the main articles instead of rigid columns. InDesign or Affinity Publisher are fine; just supply the packaged file and a press-ready PDF.
• Spot imagery—licensed photos or custom graphics—to match each article, with captions and credits in place.
• A simple contents page, consistent folios, and clean styles so future issues can follow the same template.

Acceptance criteria: print-ready PDF sized to standard US letter, all fonts outlined or included, images 300 dpi CMYK, and a native file with linked assets. If something isn’t crystal clear, let’s discuss it before layout begins—once we both sign off on the flat plan, we can keep momentum and hit the deadline smoothly.
