Project overview
eDynamic Learning is searching for experienced copy editors to ensure that manuscripts for middle and high school educational resources are error free. The copy editor reviews and resolves any issues with grammar, punctuation, usage, syntax, spelling, style, and fixes any formatting issues. The company produces digital curriculum with a current focus on career-type electives in business, health science, information technology, and sciences for American middle and high school students. Ideal Candidate Qualifications • Previous or current copyediting experience • Detail oriented • Willingness to use a variety of technological tools – Slack, Smartsheet, Dropbox • Ability to meet deadlines • Degree or diploma in English, communications, or journalism • Copyediting certification recommended Responsibilities • Review grammar, punctuation, usage, syntax, spelling (American English), and formatting. • Format footnotes and bibliographies using MLA and APA citation styles • Check text for adherence to editorial policies • Conduct fact checks (occurs occasionally) • Resolve comments using track changes. • Produce clean file. Successful candidates may be invited to audition by copyediting one (1) unit of a course (the audition), which would consist of: Target Audience: High school students Document Length: 9500 words Desired File Format: Microsoft Word Project Start Date: When awarded Project Completion Date: 5 days from start date Upon successful completion of the project, we may offer a complete course (8 units) to the successful candidate. We look for editors who produce high quality work, can collaborate with other team members, meet deadlines, can work remotely and who are open to using technology (Smartsheet, Slack, Dropbox).
