Course: College Mathematics The course covers mathematics that matter in modern society. Key areas of focus include financial literacy, numerically-based decision making, growth, scale, and numerical applications. The course applies basic college-level mathematics to real-life problems and is appropriate for students whose majors do not require college algebra or higher. Key Responsibilities Provide program instruction, incorporating innovative teaching methodologies, cutting-edge technologies and other industry trends reflecting advancements in your discipline. Maintain compliance with requirements for program accreditation. Participate in and/or support of the university program in all areas including an evident congruence with the philosophy and direction of the institution, and service to the community. Provide a positive example to students by supporting the University’s Doctrinal Statement, Ethical Position Statement and Mission of Grand Canyon University. Qualifications/Requirements PhD in Mathematics, Statistics, or closely related field with high school or post-secondary teaching experience. Masters degree in Mathematics, Statistics, or a closely related field which requires calculus or above, or statistics coursework, such as Physics and Engineering. Candidates with a Masters degree in any discipline and 3-5 years of experience teaching high school or post-secondary applied mathematics may also be considered.
