Project overview
We’re looking for a hands-on Flutter developer to take our existing template and transform it into a polished Android app that wraps our WordPress blog in a WebView—no login or registration required—and successfully deploys it to Google Play with full policy compliance, maximizing its lifespan in the store. Responsibilities - Review and customize provided Flutter template to load our WordPress blog URL in a secure, performant WebView. - Remove or disable any login/registration flows; ensure the app simply presents blog content. - Configure Android-specific settings: - Package name, versioning, manifest permissions (e.g. INTERNET, ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE) - App icon, launch screen, adaptive icons - Deep links or intent filters (if needed) - Integrate key WebView best practices: - Enable JavaScript judiciously, handle URL redirects within the view - Show friendly offline/error screens if the blog is unreachable - Secure WebView against common exploits (e.g. disable file:// access) - Prepare production-ready build: - Generate and configure Android keystore for signing - Build AAB or APK targeting the latest Android API level - Optimize assets and code for size and performance - Draft and validate all required Google Play metadata: - App description, screenshots, feature graphics - Privacy policy link (hosted on our site or GitHub Pages) - Content rating questionnaire, in-app permissions justification - Submit to Google Play Console, respond to review feedback, iterate until approval - Deliver final source code (clean, commented) plus signed release artifacts and a brief README on build & update process Qualifications - Solid Flutter & Dart experience, with 1+ production Android app launches - Familiarity with Web View plugin/setup in Flutter and security implications - Hands-on knowledge of Android signing, Play Console workflows & policy compliance - Strong grasp of mobile performance optimization and adaptive UI - Excellent communication: you’ll guide us through review feedback and keep documentation crystal clear
