Project overview
We are looking for a pianist who can create 1-2 minutes of piano music that's to be used for comedic interpretive dance. Pianist will be expected to read the scene where this interpretive dance is to happen and then improvise music that will reflect the situation of the scene. Pianist is to deliver this file in wav format. Files should be free of extraneous sounds, such as birds, doors, airplanes, cars, cabinets closing, shutters, and any other creaking sounds that would ruin the integrity of the song. This interpretive dance is to be included within a musical, so the songs from the rest of the show will be provided over the course of the assignment for context, to inform the improvised musical number. Please note that pianists will be asked to provide a 5-second sample, like with an audition. If you are interested in this position, please tell us the name of the composer of Bye Bye Birdie, before you even say "Hi." Please do not embed your answer in a sentence. Just say the name, followed by your greeting and the rest of your proposal. Failure to do this will lead to automatic disqualification. Turnaround time is 1 week. You will be given credit for your number within the sheet music, although please note that the exclusive rights for the show itself and all materials within it are to be exclusive to the authors. Other benefits: - 5-star review - Your name in the credits - Mention of your name in marketing materials for this show, which include interviews, conferences, articles written - Regular updates about how the show is doing and how it's evolving If we are interested, we will contact you and ask for your pay requirements for this type of work. Thanks so much and looking forward to your proposals!
