The task is to create a scroll-stopping YouTube video thumbnail whose single purpose is to drive more clicks. I want the viewer’s eye pulled straight to a bold facial reaction—think close-crop, high contrast, and emotions dialled up so the expression is instantly readable even on mobile. Surround that focal point with strong, complementary colours and just enough sharp text to add curiosity without crowding the frame.
Key points you’ll need to hit:
• The reaction shot must dominate the composition; background elements should only support it.
• Colour grading and lighting adjustments should make the face pop against YouTube’s light and dark modes.
• Text, if used, should stay under four words, oversized and legible at 144 × 80 px.
• Final export: 1280 × 720 px JPG/PNG under 2 MB, plus an editable PSD or layered Canva link for future tweaks.
