Freelance Role: YouTube Channel Cleanup + Monetization & Growth Manager (Existing Channel)
Overview
We’re hiring an expert YouTube Marketing Specialist to clean up and optimize an existing YouTube channel, ensure it’s set up correctly for subscriber growth and monetization, and then manage + monitor performance ongoing. We already have a life-like video clone for content creation—this role is focused on YouTube strategy, setup, optimization, and channel management.
Phase 1: Channel Cleanup & Correct Setup (Priority)
Full channel audit: branding, channel settings, permissions, homepage layout, featured sections, playlists
Clean up and standardize:
Titles, descriptions, tags, hashtags (create reusable templates)
Playlists + series structure (bingeability and session time)
Channel keywords, “About” section, links, and calls-to-action
Organize the video library:
Identify underperforming videos and quick-win optimizations
Recommend what to update, unlist, repackage, or keep as-is
Ensure channel is configured for subscriptions + retention:
Channel trailer, featured video strategy, end screens/cards, pinned comments
Monetization readiness + compliance:
Review channel eligibility and policy compliance
Guide setup/verification for YouTube Partner Program + AdSense (as applicable)
Flag any risks (reused content, copyright, policy issues) and propose fixes
Phase 2: Ongoing Growth, Management & Monitoring
Weekly analytics monitoring: CTR, retention, watch time, traffic sources, subscribers
SEO + packaging optimization for new uploads (titles, descriptions, tags, end screens)
Topic/keyword strategy to grow discovery and suggested traffic
Monthly reporting + recommendations (what to double down on, what to stop, what to test)
Optional (confirm if included): comment moderation/community management
Deliverables (First 2–3 Weeks)
Channel audit + prioritized action plan
Cleanup/optimization completed (metadata + playlists + channel layout)
Monetization checklist + eligibility plan (or fixes needed)
30-day growth plan (upload cadence, content buckets, packaging rules)
Simple weekly reporting format (Google Doc/Sheet is fine)
Requirements
Proven experience optimizing and growing YouTube channels (please share 2–3 examples)
Strong YouTube SEO + analytics skills
Deep familiarity with YouTube monetization policies and common pitfalls
Ability to work systematically and document processes
Nice-to-Have
Experience with education/coaching/personal brand channels
Shorts strategy + repurposing systems
Thumbnail direction (you don’t have to design, but you should guide what converts)
To Apply (Please Include)
Links to channels you’ve worked on + results (before/after metrics if possible)
Your approach to cleaning up an existing channel (what you check first)
What you’d do in the first 7 days
Your rate (hourly or project-based) and availability
