I’m looking for a talented screenwriter to craft a complete, 5–10-minute comedy-drama titled “The Worst Day Ever.” The protagonist is an early-teen girl (13–14) who storms through her front door after school convinced the universe is against her—she’s nursing a bad grade, a blow-up with a friend, and a mountain of homework. Almost the entire story unfolds inside the house that afternoon and evening. Through a chain of laugh-out-loud misinterpretations, dramatic overreactions, and finally an honest talk with her best friend, she realises she doesn’t have to fake happiness all the time.
What I need from you:
• A fully original English script with concise scene descriptions, realistic dialogue, and clearly marked BEGINNING (setup), MIDDLE (escalation), and ENDING (resolution).
• Comedy that lands for early-teen viewers while still feeling emotionally authentic—think awkward homework disasters, social-media slip-ups, and that dreaded grade slipping from the backpack at the worst possible moment.
• Memorable, fleshed-out characters (the dramatic lead, best friend, maybe a parent cameo) and a heart-warming closing beat that leaves the audience smiling.
Keep the language simple, the humour relatable, and the pacing tight so it runs comfortably within 5–10 minutes on screen. Deliver the finished script as a single, well-formatted document (DOCX or PDF) ready for a table read.
