I’m putting together a collection of Gothic horror tales and need a skilled storyteller to craft the first piece. Each story should sit comfortably between 1,000 and 2,000 words—short enough to keep tension high, long enough to leave readers haunted.
My vision centres on decay, isolation and the creeping terror that comes from confronting the unknown. Think echoing corridors, dust-laden air and characters whose private fears feel more dangerous than anything lurking outside. Your job is to take that mood and run with it, delivering prose that is as atmospheric as it is unsettling.
What you’ll do
• Build an oppressive, tactile setting that oozes dread
• Shape distinctive, eerie characters and escalate psychological suspense
• Hand over a polished manuscript in .docx or Google Doc, ready for a final editorial pass
