WordPress Temporary Redirect Setup

I want one of my secondary WordPress sites to point visitors to my main domain with a clean 302 temporary redirect. The site in question is essentially a “site redirect” page already, so nothing complex is running on it—no heavy plugins, no e-commerce data to migrate—just a straightforward hop over to the primary URL.

What I need from you is the safest, search-engine-friendly way to put that 302 in place. Ideally this is handled at the server or .htaccess level (Apache) or via Nginx config if that’s what you prefer; a lightweight WordPress plugin solution is acceptable only if it keeps page-speed overhead to zero and doesn’t leave any cruft behind once the redirect is live.

Deliverable:
• A working 302 redirect from the WordPress root that sends every request (including inner pages) to the homepage of my main site, without creating redirect loops or stray 404s.

I’ll verify by clearing cache, running a curl -I request, and checking Google Search Console for proper temporary status. Once everything passes, the job is done.
