WordPress Site Update with SEO Preservation

I am looking for an experienced WordPress developer with SEO experience to update an existing WordPress website.

This is NOT a website rebuild or a new theme project. All work must be done on the existing WordPress installation and existing theme, maintaining the current overall design, branding and functionality.

The main task is to update the website's positioning, navigation and content while preserving its existing SEO value.

Scope

Update the existing main navigation to: Home | For Individuals | For Businesses | About Me | Blog | Contact

Replace the existing professional terminology throughout the website with the new positioning.

Perform a full search across WordPress to identify old terminology in pages, headings, menus, footer, SEO fields, metadata, image ALT/title fields, schema and other relevant areas.

Update the existing pages using content that will be provided by me.

Implement the provided content within the existing theme, with proper H1/H2/H3 structure and responsive formatting.

Ensure everything works correctly on desktop, tablet and mobile.

SEO

SEO preservation is very important. Please audit existing URLs and implement appropriate 301 redirects wherever URLs need to change.

Meta titles/descriptions

Internal links

Broken links / 404s

Schema / structured data

Google Search Console

After completion, update/submit the sitemap and request indexing of the main updated pages where appropriate.

Existing / Old Pages

Identify old, unused or potentially unnecessary pages that are published or indexed. Provide a list and recommendation before anything is deleted:

Keep / Update / 301 Redirect / Delete

No potentially valuable indexed page should be removed without approval.

Technical

Before starting, create a full backup of the existing website and database.

Also check the existing WordPress installation, theme and plugins for compatibility, SSL, PHP/WordPress versions and any necessary technical updates.

Important

The content/copy will be provided by me. The freelancer is responsible for implementing it correctly within the existing website and theme.

Please do not propose a complete redesign, new theme or rebuild.
