The goal is to launch a WordPress-based news platform that reports on all 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals. From day one the site must be able to publish classic articles and blog posts, yet the back-end has to be flexible enough to roll out additional formats—video, podcast episodes, and data-driven visualisations—without another full rebuild.
Core work
• Install and configure WordPress on my chosen host.
• Design or adapt a modern, mobile-first theme that clearly reflects the SDG colour palette and icon set.
• Set up custom post types and taxonomies so that every story can be tagged to one or more SDGs and later retrieved by goal, region, or topic.
• Build a clean editor experience (Gutenberg blocks or Elementor sections are fine) so non-technical contributors can upload text, images, embeds and, in future phases, multimedia files and datasets.
• Optimise loading speed, basic on-page SEO, and schema markup so content is discoverable from launch.
• Deliver a short hand-over video or document explaining how to add new SDG categories, update menus, and manage users.
Acceptance criteria
1. A live, HTTPS-secured site reachable at my domain.
2. Admin panel shows distinct content types for News, Multimedia, and Data, each saving correctly.
3. Front-end displays sample posts and automatically generates SDG-specific listing pages.
4. Google Analytics and basic cache/optimisation plugins activated and tested.
5. All code, graphics, and licences handed over on project completion.
If you have experience with sustainability projects, UN branding guidelines, or data-rich WordPress builds, that will be a plus, but solid WP development skills and clear communication matter most.
