Project Overview
We are an industrial process control hardware company currently operating on a legacy Joomla platform (abtworld.com). We are looking for an independent, highly skilled WordPress developer to build a clean, modern, and low-maintenance website.
Crucial Technical Constraint:
We require a site built strictly using standard, native WordPress tools (core block editor / Gutenberg and off-the-shelf, mainstream plugins). We will not accept custom-coded themes, heavily modified plugin scripts, or proprietary page builders. The site must be built so that standard WordPress core and plugin updates will never break custom code or crash the site.
You will work directly with the business owner on a 1-on-1 basis.
Key Scope of Work
Selective Content Migration: Audit our existing Joomla content, prune obsolete pages, and transfer only essential technical assets and content.
Technical Product
Page Build: Create a clean, high-converting product page layout using native WordPress block features to display specifications, technical diagrams, and inquiry forms.
Native Core Build:
Configure the site using a reputable, standard block theme (e.g., Twenty Twenty-Four, Astra, or GeneratePress) and core Gutenberg blocks—ensuring 100% update safety with zero custom PHP/CSS hacking.
301 Redirects & SEO:
Set up standard redirects for legacy URLs to preserve existing search indexing.
Technical & Professional Requirements
Sole Freelancer Only: Independent developer only. No agencies, sub-contractors, or project managers.
Core WordPress Expertise:
Advanced mastery of native Gutenberg blocks, full-site editing (FSE), and core site building without relying on custom code.
Industrial/B2B Portfolio:
Demonstrated ability to showcase technical hardware or industrial products clearly.
