We are a small residential cleaning business serving customers in Massachusetts. We are looking for a reliable, detail-oriented freelancer to publish blog articles on our WordPress website and manage our three existing social media accounts.
We will provide the article text. You will handle WordPress formatting and publishing, images, internal linking, basic on-page SEO, and social media scheduling.
For privacy reasons, business identifying information and account links will be shared with shortlisted candidates during the interview process.
Workload and Budget
• Hourly rate: $5/hour
• Initial trial: 4 weeks
• Maximum workload: 8 hours per week
• Weekly budget: $40
• Expected output: 2 published articles per week and approximately 3 posts per social media platform per week.
Please confirm that you can complete the work within this schedule and budget. Hours must be tracked, and additional hours require approval in advance.
1. WordPress Blog Publishing
Publish two articles per week using our existing WordPress website.
We will supply the article text. Your responsibilities include:
• Format articles with readable paragraphs, headings, lists, and appropriate spacing.
• Find suitable images or create relevant images using AI.
• Use royalty-free image sources such as:
o https://www.pexels.com/
o https://unsplash.com/
o https://pixabay.com/
• Verify applicable image licenses and keep records of image sources.
• Optimize images, use descriptive filenames, and add useful alt text.
• Add a featured image and other relevant images as needed.
• Write an appropriate SEO title and meta description using the existing SEO plugin.
• Use one clear H1 heading and logical H2/H3 subheadings.
• Check formatting, spelling, and links before publishing.
• Provide the live URL for each published article.
Articles should provide helpful information to homeowners about residential house cleaning. Images should primarily show indoor cleaning, including kitchens, bathrooms, bedrooms, and living areas.
Do not copy images from Google Images or other websites without permission.
2. Internal Linking and On-Page SEO
Each article should help readers discover relevant services and other useful website content.
Please follow these guidelines:
• Link naturally to one or two relevant service pages where appropriate.
• Link to a relevant city-specific page when it genuinely helps the reader.
• Link to related blog articles as the blog grows.
• Use descriptive anchor text instead of repeatedly inserting exact-match keywords.
• Avoid keyword stuffing and unnecessary links.
• Verify that all destination URLs are correct and working.
• Follow the existing website URL structure.
• Do not change URLs, redirects, technical SEO settings, or existing page content without approval.
3. Social Media Management
Manage three existing business social media accounts: Facebook, Instagram, and X. Account details will be provided during the interview process.
Expected workload: approximately three posts per platform per week.
Responsibilities include:
• Create and schedule posts based on our supplied articles, cleaning tips, seasonal topics, and service information.
• Adapt captions for each platform rather than copying identical text everywhere.
• Use relevant images or graphics.
• Share article links and other relevant website links where appropriate.
• Focus on residential cleaning and the local communities served by the business.
• Maintain a professional, helpful, consistent brand voice.
• Check comments and messages within the allotted hours and notify us of potential customer inquiries.
• Do not purchase followers, use spam tactics, or run paid advertising without approval.
You may repurpose useful information from the weekly articles to create social posts, so you do not need to develop nine completely different topics every week.
4. Weekly Reporting
Provide a brief weekly report containing:
• The two published article URLs.
• Images used and their sources.
• Internal links added.
• Links to social media posts published on each platform.
• Total hours worked.
• Any issues or recommendations.
5. Requirements
Applicants should have:
• Experience publishing articles in WordPress.
• Basic knowledge of on-page SEO, metadata, image optimization, and internal linking.
• Experience managing Facebook, Instagram, and X business accounts.
• Good written English and strong attention to detail.
• The ability to follow instructions and meet deadlines.
• The ability to work independently within a limited weekly budget.
Please include examples of WordPress articles you have published and social media accounts you have managed. Explain how you would organize this work within 8 hours per week.
6. Four-Week Paid Trial
We will begin with a four-week paid trial. We will evaluate article quality, image selection, internal links, social media posts, communication, and reliability before deciding whether to continue.
The 8-hour weekly limit is firm unless additional hours are approved in advance. Quality and accuracy are more important than publishing rushed or incomplete work.
To apply, please confirm your availability, relevant experience, and ability to meet the weekly workload at $5/hour.
