I have a collection of Excel/CSV sheets that must be pushed into several online forms on a recurring basis. Manually copying the data is no longer practical, so I’m looking for a well-structured automation script built with either Selenium or Playwright—whichever you are most comfortable with—to handle the entire form-filling process.
Here’s the workflow in plain terms: the script should read each row in the spreadsheet, open the target web page, populate every required field exactly as the sheet specifies, submit the form, log the response (success or specific error), and then move on to the next row. A lightweight dashboard or console log that clearly reports totals and any failed entries will be helpful for quick reviews.
I will supply:
• Sample spreadsheets with the real column headers.
• URLs of the web forms plus field-mapping notes where labels differ from the spreadsheet headers.
• Test credentials if the site requires authentication.
You will deliver:
• A clean, well-commented Python script (or Node.js if you prefer Playwright there) that can run headless or headed.
• A requirements.txt / package.json so setup is one command away.
• Brief instructions for configuring the path to new spreadsheets or updating selectors should the form change.
• Optional but appreciated: error screenshots or HTML dumps when a submission fails.
Accuracy and stability take priority over sheer speed, but I do expect the run time to be reasonable for files of a few thousand rows. If you have ideas for smart retries, captchas, or rate-limit handling, let’s include them.
Once the script cleanly processes my demo file and logs a matching record count, we’re done.
