**Project Title: Website Redesign & Development for a Canadian Youth Journal**
I'm the founder of **Aletheia**, a student-led Canadian philosophy journal dedicated to making writing, critical thinking, and intellectual discussion more accessible to middle and high school students.
Our goal is to create a professional, visually distinctive online publication where students can submit original philosophical essays, receive constructive editorial feedback, and have selected work published.
We already have an initial website, but we're looking to significantly improve its design, functionality, and overall user experience. Rather than a basic informational website, we envision a modern, elegant digital journal with a strong editorial identity, similar in quality and presentation to established online academic and literary publications.
**Key features we're interested in:**
- A visually appealing, responsive homepage with professional typography and a distinctive editorial design.
- Dedicated pages for our mission, editorial team, submission guidelines, and published essays.
- An organized publication section where readers can browse essays by topic, category, or issue.
- A straightforward essay submission system, including file uploads and contributor information.
- An easy-to-manage backend so our editorial team can publish articles, update content, and manage submissions without extensive coding knowledge.
- A mobile-friendly design with smooth navigation and an intuitive user experience.
We are open to improving our existing website or rebuilding it using a more suitable platform, depending on the developer's recommendations.
**At this stage, we're primarily exploring available options, potential approaches, estimated costs, and timelines.** We would appreciate proposals from developers with experience in editorial websites, online magazines, academic publications, or similarly content-focused platforms.
Our priority is to create a website that is both visually distinctive and practical to maintain as Aletheia grows.
