I am looking for an experienced full-stack developer to take over an existing web application
www.cgnavigator.com

The application is already substantially developed. I am **not looking for a rebuild or a large amount of new development**.

The goal is to review the existing application, understand how it is intended to operate, fix the remaining issues, validate the existing functionality, improve the user experience, and get the application into a stable production-ready condition.

## Priority 1 — Understand and Validate the Existing Workflow

The basic concept is:

**Administrator creates/manages an AOR → AOR contains locations/points and associated information → questions are associated with the appropriate AOR → users train on those locations/questions → users are tested based on their assigned qualification/AOR → results/progress are recorded.**

The developer should understand **how an AOR enters the system, how the information is stored, how the user trains on it, and how that information ultimately appears during testing.**

AOR Images

This is one of the main existing technical problems and should receive significant attention. The application uses images associated with AOR locations/questions, including AI-generated images.

Please:

* [ ] Diagnose why AOR images sometimes fail to generate.
* [ ] Diagnose why images sometimes fail to load or display.
* [ ] Confirm images are saved correctly.
* [ ] Confirm images remain associated with the correct AOR/location/question.
* [ ] Make sure the appropriate image appears during training.
* [ ] Make sure the appropriate image appears during testing.
* [ ] Eliminate broken image references.
* [ ] Validate the AI image-generation integration and error handling.
* [ ] Make the image workflow reliable.

This is a **high-priority issue**.

---

## Priority 4 — Questions & Testing Validation

I do not expect major redevelopment of the testing system.

The primary objective is **verification and cleanup**.

Please verify:

* [ ] Questions are associated with the correct qualification.
* [ ] Questions are associated with the correct AOR.
* [ ] Questions pull correctly during training and testing.
* [ ] AOR questions display the correct information and images.
* [ ] Test configuration behaves logically.
* [ ] Scores/results are saved correctly.
* [ ] Question counts are accurate.
* [ ] There are no duplicate or incorrectly categorized questions.
* [ ] Administrator question-management tools work correctly.

---

## Priority 5 — Administrator & Trainee/User Validation

This should primarily be a validation and usability exercise rather than major new development.

Please verify:

* [ ] Administrators can create and manage users.
* [ ] Administrators can assign qualifications appropriately.
* [ ] Administrators can assign/manage AOR access appropriately.
* [ ] Enabled and disabled qualifications are easy to understand.
* [ ] Trainee accounts function correctly.
* [ ] User permissions behave correctly.
* [ ] Administrator-created accounts can be activated and managed correctly.
* [ ] Administrator screens are straightforward to use.

Any confusing areas should be cleaned up, but I am not requesting a completely new administration system.

---

## Priority 6 — User Interface / User Experience

The functionality already exists in many areas, but the application needs some UI/UX refinement.

Please review the application from the perspective of a new user and improve:

* [ ] Navigation consistency.
* [ ] Back / Exit / Dashboard behavior.
* [ ] Unnecessary clicks.
* [ ] Excessive scrolling.
* [ ] Page organization.
* [ ] Button placement and labeling.
* [ ] Instructions to the user.
* [ ] Visual clarity.
* [ ] Mobile/responsive behavior where appropriate.

The objective is a **cleaner, simpler and more intuitive experience**, not a complete visual redesign.

---

## Priority 7 — Application Stability

As the above items are reviewed:

* [ ] Identify existing errors or broken functionality.
* [ ] Fix application crashes.
* [ ] Check database/API errors.
* [ ] Check broken links/pages.
* [ ] Confirm existing integrations operate correctly.
* [ ] Verify that fixes in one section do not break another section.
* [ ] Perform final regression testing.

# No Major New Features at This Stage

I am **not currently looking to add major new capabilities**.

For example, features such as allowing users to propose/upload new AOR locations from a map are **not part of this immediate project**.

The priority is to make the **existing CG Navigator application work correctly and reliably first**.

Future features can be discussed after the current platform is stable.

# Documentation / Support Context

I also want the selected developer to understand and document the application sufficiently so that future development does not depend on one person.

# How I Would Like the Project Handled

I suggest the work be approached in this order:

**1. Review existing application and understand workflow**

**2. Validate and fix AOR functionality**

**3. Fix AOR image generation/display issues**

**4. Validate questions and testing**

**5. Validate administrator/trainee functionality**

**6. Improve UI/UX**

**7. Final system testing and production validation**

I expect that much of this project will involve **reviewing, validating, correcting and polishing existing functionality rather than building new functionality from scratch.**

# When Applying

Please tell me:

1. Your experience taking over existing web applications.
2. Your experience debugging existing code.
3. Your experience with database-driven applications.
4. Your experience with mapping/geolocation functionality.
5. Your experience with AI/image-generation APIs.
6. Your experience reviewing and improving existing UI/UX.
7. Whether you will personally perform the work.
8. How you would approach reviewing an unfamiliar existing codebase.

Please begin your proposal with **"CG Navigator"** so I know you reviewed the project description.

I am looking for someone who can first **understand what is already built**, then methodically finish and stabilize it without unnecessarily rebuilding the platform.
