Air freight Logistics Management System

We need to develop a web-based Air Cargo Logistics Management System for a logistics company that handles air cargo imports and exports for customers.

The system should manage the complete basic process of air cargo shipments, from creating a customer and shipment to tracking the cargo using the shipment’s AWB (Air Waybill) number.

Main Requirements

1. Customer Management

* Add, edit, view and manage customers
* Customer contact and company details
* View the customer’s import/export shipments and history

2. Import Management

* Create and manage air cargo import shipments
* Import shipment details such as:
* Customer
* AWB number
* Airline
* Origin
* Destination
* Shipper
* Consignee
* Cargo description
* Number of packages
* Weight
* Flight details
* Shipment dates
* Customs/clearance information
* Shipment status
* Other relevant charges and notes
* Edit and update shipment information
* View complete shipment history

3. Export Management

* Create and manage air cargo export shipments
* Same basic shipment information required for exports
* Manage AWB details, airline, destination, cargo information, packages, weight, flight details, dates, charges and status

4. AWB Cargo Tracking API
The most important feature is cargo tracking through the AWB number.

When an AWB number is entered into the system, the system should connect to an appropriate air cargo tracking API and retrieve the latest shipment status.

For example, the system should be able to integrate with supported airline/cargo tracking services such as airline cargo APIs where available.

The system should:

* Store the AWB number
* Send the AWB to the tracking API
* Retrieve the latest tracking/status information
* Display the cargo movement/status inside the system
* Show tracking events/history where the API provides them
* Allow the customer to check their shipment status using the AWB number

The API integration should be designed in a way that additional airlines/tracking providers can be added later.

5. Customer Tracking Page

There should be a customer-facing tracking page where a customer can enter their AWB number and see the current status of their cargo.

Example:

Enter AWB Number → Search → Display Shipment → Show Current Status + Tracking History

Only relevant shipment information should be shown to the customer.

6. Shipment Status Management
The system should support basic shipment statuses such as:

* Booked
* Accepted
* Departed
* In Transit
* Arrived
* Customs Clearance
* Ready for Delivery
* Delivered
* Cancelled

The exact statuses can be adjusted depending on the tracking API.

7. Documents
Allow users to upload and manage shipment-related documents such as:

* AWB documents
* Commercial invoices
* Packing lists
* Customs documents
* Other shipment documents

Documents should be linked to the relevant import/export shipment.

8. Charges / Basic Financial Details
The system should allow basic charges related to each shipment to be recorded, such as:

* Freight charges
* Handling charges
* Customs/clearance charges
* Other charges

This does not need to be a full accounting system. It is mainly for recording and viewing shipment-related charges.

9. Dashboard
A simple dashboard showing:

* Total imports
* Total exports
* Active shipments
* Completed shipments
* Pending/customs shipments
* Recent shipments
* Shipment status overview

10. Users & Access
Basic user/login management with different access levels if required, for example:

* Admin
* Staff
* Customer

Important

This system is only for air cargo logistics. It should not include sea freight, trucking, warehouse management or unnecessary logistics modules.

The main focus is:

Customers → Import/Export Shipments → AWB Management → Airline/Cargo API Tracking → Customer Tracking → Shipment Documents → Basic Charges & Reports

The system should be developed with a clean and scalable structure so additional airlines, APIs and features can be integrated in the future without rebuilding the whole system.
