Web Appointment Booking & Reminders

I’m building a straightforward online appointment system that lets visitors choose an available time slot, confirm it, and then automatically receive reminders. Everything will live on the web—no native iOS or Android versions for now—so clean, responsive front-end code is essential.

Core flow
• A public calendar displays my open slots in real time.
• A visitor picks a slot, enters basic contact details, and the booking is written to the database.
• The system emails (and ideally also sends SMS, if you have a quick plug-in solution) a confirmation plus one reminder 24 hours before the meeting.

Access & roles
Only end-users need to log in. They should be able to view, reschedule, or cancel their own bookings after signing in. An admin back-office already exists on my side, so you don’t need to create admin authentication—just expose clear APIs or endpoints so my team can pull the data.

Tech expectations
I’m flexible on stack as long as:
• The UI is responsive (React, Vue, or clean vanilla JS welcome).
• Back-end stores appointments in a relational DB (MySQL or PostgreSQL).
• Cron or a queuing service handles the timed reminder dispatch.

Deliverables
1. Complete source code in a Git repo.
2. Deployed prototype on my shared hosting for acceptance testing.
3. README explaining environment variables, build steps, and how to add new reminder intervals.

Acceptance criteria
• User can book, view, modify, and cancel an appointment.
• Conflicts are prevented—no double-booking of the same time slot.
• Reminder emails fire at the correct time.
• Front-end passes Lighthouse mobile responsiveness checks.
