I need a concise Basis-of-Design document that lays out a complete ventilation strategy for a tunnel-type warehouse used purely for storage of goods. Air quality management is the overriding goal, and every recommendation must satisfy current OSHA standards for worker exposure and contaminant levels.
The document has to translate those regulatory requirements into clear design parameters—fresh-air rates, airflow patterns, fan sizing, filtration tiers, sensor placement and control logic. Because the building is essentially a long tunnel, please address pressure zoning, potential stratification, and smoke control considerations that differ from a conventional rectangular space.
Support the narrative with calculations produced in an HVAC tool you are comfortable with (e.g., Carrier HAP, Trace, or a CFD package for airflow visualization). I will insert the numbers into our Revit model later, so include coordinate references and proposed duct/fan locations in plan and section views exported from AutoCAD, Revit, or similar software.
Deliverables:
• Basis-of-Design report (PDF) outlining codes, assumptions, calculations and recommended equipment.
• Schematic ventilation layout in DWG or RVT with key dimensions and airflow arrows.
• Brief appendix showing compliance check against OSHA limits for particulates, CO, and any other common warehouse contaminants.
I expect crisp writing, verifiable calculations and drawings that a mechanical contractor can quote from without further clarification.
