I’m building a web application from the ground up and have settled on a Vue 3 front-end, a Node.js (Express) back-end, and a MySQL database. The first milestone is a solid foundation that includes secure user authentication and the ability to handle several distinct user roles, each with its own set of permissions.
Here’s what I need from you: craft the schema in MySQL, build the REST (or GraphQL if you prefer) layer in Node.js, and wire it to a clean, component-based Vue 3 interface. The authentication flow should cover registration, email-verified login, password reset, and role-based access control that cleanly gates routes and API endpoints. I’d like the code organised so new features—such as real-time updates or payment integration later—drop in smoothly.
To keep us aligned, please deliver:
• a Git repo with well-commented source for Vue, Node, and SQL migrations
• a short README that explains local setup, env variables, and build scripts
• a quick loom or screenshot walkthrough proving each role sees only its permitted views/actions
• automated tests for the auth and role middleware (Jest or similar)
If you favour particular libraries (Pinia, TypeORM, Prisma, Passport, etc.) just say why; I’m open as long as they’re actively maintained. Let me know your estimated timeline for the first production-ready release and any questions you need answered before we kick off.
