PROJECT BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE
We are developing an immersive visitor experience for PIAF, a centre dedicated to the arts of fire at the historic La Taillerie building in Baccarat, in France’s Grand Est region.
The future experience will introduce visitors to the region’s landscapes, natural resources and craftsmanship: glassmaking, crystal, ceramics and artistic metalwork. Visitors will travel above forests and towns, then enter workshops to discover artisans’ gestures and the transmission of their skills. The journey will lead to La Taillerie and its new life with PIAF.
Our aim is to create a memorable opening to the exhibition: an experience that inspires curiosity and makes visitors feel they are travelling through these places. The full production could last approximately ten minutes and is intended for a visitor installation with sixteen standalone VR headsets.
PURPOSE OF THIS FREE TEST
Before selecting a production partner, we need to assess applicants’ ability to create convincing animated VR with genuine stereoscopic depth.
We are therefore requesting a free, unpaid 15-second demonstration: a gentle flight above the Vosges forest, followed by an approach towards Baccarat and a smooth descent towards La Taillerie. We will provide reference photographs identifying the target building.
The test should demonstrate:
- A convincing sense of depth, scale and movement.
- The ability to look around the surrounding environment.
- A smooth camera journey suitable for seated visitors.
- A recognisable approach to the location shown in our references.
- A lightweight deliverable that runs on a standalone PICO or Meta Quest headset. Please specify the supported model and provide simple viewing instructions.
This is a capability assessment only, not a request for the complete experience. The test is unpaid and will be used solely for internal evaluation. Applicants retain ownership of their work; any public or commercial use would require a separate agreement.
A convincing demonstration may lead to a separately agreed paid production assignment, subject to project funding and selection. No future contract is guaranteed. Please apply only if you accept these unpaid test conditions.
