We're looking for a creative video editor to transform our wedding footage into a fun, engaging and memorable film that captures the feeling of the day.
Rather than hiring a professional videographer, our family and friends recorded moments throughout the wedding using vintage video cameras. We have lots of separate clips from different people and are looking for someone who can turn them into a cohesive story that brings the day to life.
We're not looking for a traditional wedding video. Instead, we'd love something that feels authentic, playful, nostalgic and full of personality, capturing both the big moments and the little interactions that made the day special. We'd love the editor to use their creative judgement to shape the footage into something unique and entertaining to watch.
Deliverables
A 1-2 minute highlight reel featuring the best moments from the day
A longer edited video with more footage and memorable moments included
Footage & Audio
Footage comes from a variety of vintage cameras
Audio quality varies and may not always be suitable for direct use
We can provide copies of our vows and speeches, and would love key quotes or moments to be incorporated creatively, whether through audio, subtitles or on-screen text where appropriate
We'd love music from our wedding day to be used as the soundtrack where possible and can share songs used.
Moments We'd Love Included
Ceremony highlights
Reception highlights
Fun moments on the dancefloor
Family and guest interactions
Candid and behind-the-scenes moments
Emotional, funny and memorable moments from throughout the day
Creative Style
We're open to different approaches, but are particularly drawn to:
Documentary-style storytelling
Nostalgic / vintage-inspired editing
Fun, energetic and personality-led films
Creative montages and seamless transitions
The most important thing is that the final videos feel authentic to us and capture the atmosphere, humour, emotion and chaos of the day.
Ideal Experience
Experience editing wedding, event or documentary-style videos
Strong storytelling and creative editing skills
Comfortable working with footage from multiple cameras and varying quality levels
Experience enhancing vintage or imperfect footage
Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve or similar software
