ABOUT SPRINTER
SPRINTER is developing a technology-enabled network for same-day and next-day city-to-city package delivery in the United States. Its approach combines vetted drivers already traveling toward a package destination, dedicated delivery drivers, planned retail drop-off and pickup locations, and secure reusable Smart Shipping Boxes.
Our initial technology platform has been developed. We are seeking an accomplished logistics leader to help design, launch and scale the operational network, starting with selected California corridors.

THE OPPORTUNITY
We need an experienced, hands-on logistics executive - not simply an advisor. You will work directly with the Founder & CEO to translate a high-potential logistics concept into reliable daily operations, measurable service quality and a scalable nationwide model.

STRONGLY PREFERRED: UPS, FEDEX OR DHL EXPERIENCE
Strong preference will be given to candidates who previously held management, senior management or executive positions with UPS, FedEx, DHL, or another major international parcel-delivery or logistics organization. We especially value experience with large delivery networks, dispatch, fleet and driver operations, distribution centers, route planning, operational controls and regional or national expansion. Former UPS, FedEx and DHL operations leaders are strongly encouraged to apply.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Logistics network design: Develop California launch corridors, operational models, service areas, routing, capacity plans and a roadmap for expansion across the United States.
• Same-day and next-day delivery: Establish SOPs covering package acceptance, pickup, dispatch, transportation, tracking, delivery confirmation, exceptions and customer handoffs.
• Cutoff-time planning: Build operations around proposed 11:00 AM same-day and 5:00 PM next-day drop-off/pickup cutoffs, validating feasibility by corridor before launch.
• Driver network: Design recruiting, vetting, onboarding, scheduling, performance management and service standards for route-match drivers and dedicated SPRINTER drivers.
• Pickup and drop-off partnerships: Develop operating procedures and partner requirements for a planned network of 3,000+ nationwide retail locations; this network is a growth objective, not an existing footprint.
• Transportation economics: Evaluate cost per shipment, driver compensation, route density, vehicle utilization, delivery time, operating expenses and profitability.
• Technology collaboration: Work with the product and engineering teams driver-package matching, dispatch workflows, tracking, proof of delivery, reporting and Smart Box integration.
• Compliance and safety: Coordinate with legal/compliance specialists on transport regulations, insurance, driver standards, package restrictions, claims and loss prevention.
• Team leadership: Recruit, train and manage dispatch coordinators, regional operations managers and transportation partners as the business scales.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
• 7-10+ years of progressively responsible experience in parcel delivery, courier networks, transportation, 3PL, distribution or logistics operations.
• Demonstrated success launching, building, managing or expanding a delivery operation - preferably at regional or national scale.
• Strong knowledge of dispatch, route optimization, driver operations, SOPs, cost controls, performance metrics and service reliability.
• Understanding of U.S. transportation and logistics operations, even if working remotely from outside the United States.
• Excellent English communication, leadership, financial analysis, project management and independent execution skills.
• Experience with technology-enabled logistics, on-demand delivery, two-sided marketplaces or driver networks is a plus.

WHO WILL SUCCEED
A strategic but practical operator who can design a network, identify operational risks, build a launch plan, lead execution, recruit capable people and produce measurable outcomes. We prefer professionals who have built or launched logistics operations, not only supervised established teams.

WORK ARRANGEMENT & COMPENSATION
This is a fully remote, hourly paid freelance/contract position. Hours and hourly compensation will be agreed based on experience, availability and responsibilities. The engagement may develop into a longer-term executive leadership relationship as SPRINTER grows.

HOW TO APPLY ON FREELANCER.COM
Please review www.sprinterone.us before applying. Generic proposals will not be prioritized. In your application, include:
• Your logistics background and the operations or delivery networks you have managed or built.
• Major-company experience: Whether you worked for UPS, FedEx, DHL or a comparable company; your job title, dates, principal responsibilities and measurable accomplishments.
• A brief outline of how you would launch California same-day/next-day service, including Los Angeles-San Francisco and Los Angeles-San Diego corridors.
• Your experience recruiting and managing drivers, dispatching shipments, developing SOPs and improving transportation unit economics.
• Your weekly availability, hourly rate and examples of relevant results.
