Verify 3 passive component suppliers in Shenzhen — sourcing pilot

Context
We support a European buyer of renewable-energy equipment — solar inverters, battery storage, hydrogen fuel cells. They source electronic components, PCB assemblies, connectors, cable and sheet metal from China, and they need a partner who can develop suppliers, compare quotes and travel to see factories.
This posting is a small paid pilot. We use it to find one or two people worth working with long term.
The task
Identify and verify three trustworthy suppliers of passive electronic components — resistors, capacitors, inductors — in Shenzhen or Dongguan. I will give you one or two typical part numbers once we start; you do not need the full BOM now.
My priority is quality control and genuine materials. I am not looking for the lowest quote.
Scope of work
- Visit all three candidates in person, whether factory or trading office. Supplier brochures, WeChat videos or phone calls do not count as a visit.
- Collect current quotation sheets for the parts I specify: unit price at 1k / 10k / 100k, MOQ, lead time, payment terms.
- Take your own photos of the premises, storage and production area. Each shot must include a handwritten date note in frame.
- Gather authenticity evidence: valid quality certificates, recent test reports, and either customer references or export records.
- Write a one-page note comparing the three on quality robustness, counterfeit risk, pricing, lead time and your recommendation.
Deliverables
1. Contact details for each supplier — company name, address, phone, email, key sales engineer.
2. Quotation sheets in PDF or Excel.
3. Your own photos.
4. Copies of certificates, test reports and references.
5. The one-page comparison note.
Deliver within 7 days of accepting. Label every file by supplier.
How we will judge it
Two things matter more than the report itself.
First, whether you actually went. A dated photo from inside the building settles that.
Second, whether you tell us what you could not verify. If a supplier will not release test reports, or the channel looks grey, write that down. An honest "unknown" is worth more to me than a confident guess.
Requirements
- Based in Shenzhen, Dongguan or Guangzhou. This cannot be done remotely.
- Native or fluent Mandarin.
- Hands-on sourcing experience with electronic components — not general merchandise.
- Your own transport for site visits.
- Working English. You will need to explain your findings to a European buyer in writing, and eventually on a call.
Engagement
USD 150 fixed for this pilot, released on delivery. Whoever does this well goes to the front of the queue for ongoing monthly sourcing work — that is the actual reason this posting exists.
