Virtual Graphic Designer – CorelDRAW and Wide-Format Signage

Blue Sky Signs is an Australian signage and vehicle-graphics business servicing the Bega Valley and South Coast of NSW.

We are looking for a reliable and experienced virtual graphic designer to work approximately 20 hours per week on an ongoing basis.

This is a hands-on design and artwork-production role involving customer proofs, vector artwork and print-ready files for commercial signage and wide-format printing.

Main Responsibilities

* Produce two to three professional design concepts for customer proofs.
* Supply initial concepts within 24 hours of receiving a clear brief.
* Complete revisions accurately and efficiently.
* Supply final print-ready artwork within 24 hours after customer approval.
* Recreate poor-quality logos and images as clean vector artwork.
* Prepare artwork for shopfront signs, ACP panels, window graphics, vehicle graphics, stickers, banners and other large-format applications.
* Add correct bleed, trim lines, guide marks and panel-alignment marks.
* Prepare scaled and full-size production artwork accurately.
* Convert fonts to curves and ensure linked images are embedded.
* Check spelling, measurements, resolution, colours and layout before submitting files.
* Create contour-cut paths when required.
* Maintain clearly organised customer folders and file versions.

Essential Requirements

* Advanced experience using CorelDRAW.
* Strong graphic design and layout skills.
* Demonstrated experience preparing artwork for signage, vehicle graphics or wide-format printing.
* Excellent written and spoken English.
* Very careful attention to spelling, measurements and customer instructions.
* Reliable internet connection and suitable computer equipment.
* Excellent communication and prompt responses during agreed working hours.
* Ability to understand written briefs, photographs, measurements and marked-up customer proofs.
* Ability to supply editable CorelDRAW files, print-ready PDFs and suitable vector formats.
* Willingness to sign a confidentiality agreement and protect all customer artwork and information.

Availability and Commitment

This position requires approximately 20 dependable hours each week, with suitable availability overlapping Australian NSW business hours.

You must be personally completing the work. No agencies, outsourcing or subcontracting.

This is not suitable for someone attempting to fit Blue Sky Signs around several other full-time clients or another full-time job. During the agreed working hours, our projects must receive your full attention, and agreed deadlines must be reliable.

Turnaround Expectations

* Two to three initial proof concepts within 24 hours.
* Revisions completed promptly.
* Final print-ready and editable vector files within 24 hours of customer approval.
* Immediate communication if information is missing or a deadline may be affected.
