Test a small digital-downloads shop and tell us everything that is wrong
Budget: $15–30 per tester for about 90 minutes · Hiring: 3–5 people · Turnaround: 3 days
We sell printable PDFs, spreadsheets, planners and cut files. The shop is new and has never had a real customer. We want you to use it the way a customer would, and tell us every point where you hesitate, get confused, or can't do what you meant to do.
You do not need to install, buy, or set anything up
No card, ever. The shop runs in test mode for you: every flow is the real one, and no payment is taken. If any page asks for card details, stop and tell us. That is the most serious thing you could find.
No spreadsheet to fill in, no report to write. The checklist is inside the site. A yellow button floats on every page; tap it and the questions are there, grouped by section. Your answers save as you type.
One link does everything. It turns test mode on, opens your checklist, and sends your findings back.
What we need from you
Work through the checklist on the device you were hired for. There are 45 checks in five sections:
buying as a first-time visitor
your account and order history
what happens when things go wrong
how the shop looks
the whole journey on a phone
Each check has a box for what happened and a 1–5 score.
Screenshots of anything wrong or ugly, on the check they belong to. Every check has an "Add a screenshot" button, or you can paste one in. Short screen-recording clips are the only thing to send separately.
Your device, browser and country. There is a field for it.
If you can, record your screen with your voice. Say what you expect before each click. We pay for the extra time.
Devices. We are hiring a mix, and we'll tell you which seat is yours:
phone only (the most important seat)
tablet
desktop or laptop
one tester outside the US, because the shop switches paper size and spelling by country
one deliberately awkward tester: back button, refreshing mid-checkout, two tabs open, a wrong email
Real devices only. We are not using a cloud device grid.
We pay the full time, whether you find anything or not. An honest "it worked" is a result.
What happens to your round. Your answers reach us as you write them. Anything you score 4 or 5 blocks our launch until it is fixed.
Please read this before you apply. While you test, we record where you click, where you pause, and any moment the page freezes. We do not record your screen or anything you type: no email, no password, no address. Recording stops when the round ends, and the data is deleted along with your test orders. If you'd rather not, say so and we won't hire you for this round, no hard feelings.
To apply, tell us:
which device you'd test on
whether you can record your screen
one shop you bought from recently that you thought was badly made, and why
