User Manual Translation - English to Canadian French -- 2

Project Overview
We are a Canadian manufacturer of premium kitchen range hoods seeking an experienced translator to translate our product user manuals from English into Canadian French (Québécois French).
Our manuals contain technical product information, installation instructions, safety warnings, operating instructions, maintenance guidelines, and product specifications. We are looking for a translator with strong technical translation skills who can deliver accurate, natural, and professional French while maintaining the original document's layout and visual presentation.

Scope of Work
The selected freelancer will be responsible for:
- Translating English range hood user manuals into clear, accurate, and natural Canadian French.
- Using appropriate Canadian French terminology for technical, electrical, installation, and product-related content.
- Maintaining consistency in terminology, style, measurements, safety warnings, and technical specifications throughout each manual.
- Proofreading and reviewing the translated content to ensure accuracy, grammar, and readability.
- Preserving the original document's layout, formatting, tables, illustrations, diagrams, and page structure.
- Adjusting text placement and alignment as needed to accommodate the French translation while keeping the document professional and easy to read.

Important: Existing illustrations and diagrams must remain unchanged. The freelancer may reposition them as needed to accommodate translated text, but must not modify, redraw, scale, or otherwise manipulate the original illustrations.

Required Deliverables
For each completed manual, the freelancer must provide:
- Editable source file
- Print-ready PDF
Both deliverables must be complete, properly formatted, and reviewed before submission.

Compensation
CAD $100 per completed manual.

Required Qualifications:
- Proven experience translating English into Canadian French, preferably Québécois French.
- Experience translating technical documents, product manuals, installation instructions, or similar materials.
- Excellent command of French grammar, terminology, and technical writing.
- Strong proofreading and quality-control skills.
- Experience working with document layout and formatting software, such as Adobe InDesign, Adobe Illustrator, or comparable tools.
- Ability to preserve the original document's visual structure while accommodating translated text.
- Attention to detail and commitment to delivering accurate, publication-ready documents.
- Native or bilingual proficiency in Canadian French is strongly preferred. Applicants based in Canada are preferred.
