I’m building a mobile app aimed at farmers across the United States and Canada, and I need a practicing—or recently retired—farmer to keep my development choices grounded in real-world practice.
The first release will serve crop producers, with a special emphasis on corn and soybean operations. Your role is to walk me through the full production cycle—from seed selection and planting dates to harvest logistics—while also flagging regional machinery preferences, common record-keeping habits, and weather-driven decisions that affect day-to-day work. I will bring you early wireframes and feature drafts; you will critique what’s realistic, suggest what’s missing, and explain why.
When you reply, please point me to past work that demonstrates you have already shared your expertise (e.g., presentations, extension articles, on-farm trials, or any tech projects you’ve advised). A quick note on acreage, equipment brands you use, and how many seasons you’ve managed corn/soybeans will also help me understand your background.
If you enjoy translating hands-on farming knowledge into practical digital tools, I’d love to work together and ship an app that genuinely helps your peers.
