Update Android App Target API

I maintain the “MediFind – Chemist App” on Google Play and have just received the policy notice that it must target the latest Android version ahead of the 31 Aug 2026 deadline. Right now the project still declares targetSdkVersion “API 36 or Higher”, yet Play Console is flagging the bundle because the compiled artefact is older.
****And Needs to add sound in one Place.
Your task is to bring the entire codebase up to the current target API level accepted by Google Play, upgrade Gradle tooling, and resolve any breaking changes in code or third-party dependencies. The code is a standard Android Studio project (Java & a bit of Kotlin), published as an AAB; minSdkVersion must stay exactly as it is so existing users are not cut off.
Key outcomes I need from you:
• Build environment migrated to the latest stable Android Studio and Gradle plugin
• targetSdkVersion/compileSdkVersion set to the newest API, with all obsolete calls replaced or refactored
• All libraries updated to their compatible versions (support/Jetpack, Play-services, Firebase, etc.) so the project compiles cleanly
• A signed, release-ready AAB that passes Google’s pre-launch report with zero policy or crash issues
• A concise change log explaining every modification and any future steps I’ll need when Google raises the bar again
I will provide full source, keystore, and Play access for internal testing. Once the updated bundle is live and verified in production, the milestone is complete.
