Summary
I'm looking for an experienced hardware builder to design, build, test, and ship a custom all-in-one PC: a laptop motherboard (with dedicated GPU) mounted inside a repurposed desktop monitor, powered by a single cable. Primary use: running AI image-recognition models locally. I'll handle all AI software myself — this job is hardware only: choosing the parts, building the unit, and delivering it with Windows installed and drivers working. The main thing this affects for you is component choice: an NVIDIA dGPU with CUDA support and as much VRAM as the budget allows is the priority.
Secondary goal: noticeably cheaper than an equivalent desktop PC while staying close in performance.
Deliverable
One fully assembled, tested, working unit shipped to me, plus a parts list, wiring diagram, photos of the internals before closing the case, and a short setup/maintenance guide.
Core components
Laptop motherboard with NVIDIA dGPU (RTX 30/40-series or newer preferred), sourced from a donor laptop with a broken screen/chassis to save cost. Include the CPU, RAM (32 GB preferred), NVMe SSD (1 TB preferred), Wi‑Fi/BT card, and the laptop's original cooling (heatsink + fans).
Monitor: 24–27", 1080p or 1440p, 120 Hz minimum (4K not required). Ideally a model with a thin, flat back and room to mount hardware. Its original driver board and power supply will be reused.
Powered USB hub, monitor driver/controller board, and voltage regulator(s) so the entire unit runs from one wall cable (single power brick or internal PSU — your call, but justify it in the proposal).
Extra internal case fan for the closed enclosure. Size the power supply with headroom for the laptop board at full GPU load + monitor + hub + fan (please show the power budget in your proposal).
Enclosure & appearance
Closed sides — no exposed internals. Ventilation only through purposeful vents/mesh on the sides and rear.
Gaming aesthetic (angular lines, mesh vents, optional subtle RGB accent). Tidy, finished look — not a prototype.
Interior must be fully enclosed and dust-managed as far as practical.
Power button
A proper monitor-style tactile button (no improvised paper/copper switch) built into the bezel or underside.
One press powers on both the laptop board and the monitor; a second press / OS shutdown powers off both. Wire this via the laptop board's power-switch header and the monitor driver board's power line (relay, MOSFET, or small microcontroller — your choice, please explain).
Rear/bottom I/O (must be reachable from the underside of the monitor)

Software / configuration (basic setup only — no AI software work needed)
Windows 11 (Pro preferred). If the donor laptop has an embedded OEM Windows key, reuse it; otherwise include a legitimate license in the BOM.
BIOS/OS configured so the unit boots and displays on the internal panel with no lid/laptop-screen issues.
