I run a small IT consultancy that already serves clients in both Ireland and the UK from abroad. To keep projects running smoothly, I now need someone on the ground who can handle two practical tasks for me on an ongoing, part-time basis.
First, when new staff join our client sites, you will visit the location, unbox and power-up their laptops, apply the standard image I supply, join them to the network, confirm connectivity with our remote team, and hand the machine over ready for use. Most visits are short and can be scheduled around your other work, but reliability and clear communication are essential.
Second, I need help formalising a light local presence so I can invoice and receive payments inside each country. This involves guiding me through the steps of registering a simple business entity, pointing me toward a suitable accountant or online service for tax filings, and assisting with setting up a local bank account or equivalent payment channel. You don’t have to be a solicitor or accountant yourself, but you should understand the process well enough to keep paperwork moving and flag anything that needs professional sign-off.
Typical deliverables
• On-site laptop installation completed and signed off by the end user
• Post-visit confirmation log returned to me within 24 hours
• Checklist of registration steps and completed forms for the local business setup, plus proof that a payment channel is active
The workload is ad-hoc—some weeks there may be several laptop drops, other weeks only a quick follow-up call or form submission. I pay promptly per task, and travel costs are reimbursed. If you are based anywhere in the UK, Northern Ireland, or the Republic of Ireland and you enjoy hands-on IT work mixed with a bit of admin, let’s talk.
