I am seeking an experienced 1D/2D hydraulic flood modeller to assist with a UK planning case in Egham, Surrey, England.
The work will involve obtaining and re-running the relevant Environment Agency Lower Thames hydraulic model, incorporating detailed topographical data and a more accurate representation of buildings and urban features along a short section of Egham High Street.
The objective is to reassess predicted flood extent, depth, velocity, hazard and time-to-inundation along a pedestrian evacuation route and produce modelling suitable for review by the Environment
Agency / UK planning authorities.
A comprehensive technical information pack will be provided, including:
-existing FRA
-detailed topographical data
-existing EA flood modelling outputs
-flood warning / evacuation information
-site and route plans
-previous technical comments and planning evidence
Essential experience:
* TUFLOW
* Flood Modeller
* Coupled 1D/2D hydraulic modelling
* Modifying and re-running existing hydraulic models
* LiDAR / DTM / survey integration
* Building and urban obstruction representation
* Flood hazard and time-to-inundation analysis
* UK flood-risk / planning methodology
Highly desirable:
* Previous work with Environment Agency model files / Product 7 data
* Previous EA or LLFA technical review
* Lower Thames modelling experience
HEC-RAS-only applicants are not suitable for the lead role.
Ultimately there is a 30m section of the high street that shows elevated flooding in the current hydraulic models, however, the model does not factor in buildings and accurate topographical data.
This is not a general FRA-writing commission. I require someone who can work directly with the underlying hydraulic model.
Detailed scope and technical documents will be provided to suitable candidates.
I have attached the Flood Risk Assessment and Flood risk management plan so the specific road & information can be seen.
