I have a finished manuscript—a memoir that follows a real-life true-crime story—and I’m ready to put a striking, professional face on it. Because the narrative reads like an intimate biography, the cover needs to convey authenticity and tension without falling back on cliché imagery. I’m leaning toward a purely typographic treatment: bold, readable type that hints at suspense and vulnerability through color, spacing, and subtle texture rather than photos or illustrations.
Here’s what I need from you:
• Print-ready PDF and layered source file (Adobe InDesign or Photoshop preferred) for a standard 6"×9" paperback, including front, spine, and back.
• A high-resolution e-book version that meets KDP and IngramSpark specs.
• Spine width calculated from my final page count; bleed, trim, and barcode area properly set.
• At least two initial concepts, followed by revisions until the design nails the tone—gritty yet personal.
• Rights transferred in writing so I can use the cover across all formats and marketing materials.
If you have sample work that shows strong typographic storytelling—especially in the crime, memoir, or biography space—please include it. I’m ready to move quickly once I see a style that resonates.
