Two-Day University IT Project

I have a fast-moving, two-day university project that touches three areas at once: network security, data analysis, and software development. Everything has to be wrapped up within 48 hours, so I’m looking for someone who can jump in immediately and cover the full stack of tasks without hand-holding.

Scope of work
• Harden our small campus network by configuring firewalls, enabling reliable intrusion-detection rules, and setting up a VPN that works securely for both on-site and remote students.
• Analyse a provided set of student-related data (CSV format, roughly 50 K rows) to surface patterns and generate concise visual insights we can present to faculty.
• Extend an existing Python/Django tool that manages student results so grades can be upgraded in bulk and new calculation logic can be toggled on or off.

Deliverables (within 48 hours)
1. A fully documented firewall, IDS, and VPN configuration tested on our lab routers/switches.
2. A short report plus the cleaned Jupyter notebook (or Python script) that walks through the data analysis, includes visualisations, and highlights key findings.
3. Updated Django code, migrations, and a brief README showing how to run the “upgrade results” module in dev and production.

I will provide SSH access to the lab environment, sample data, and the Git repo as soon as we start. Please be ready to work collaboratively via Slack or Zoom for quick check-ins and questions. If you are comfortable moving across these disciplines under a tight deadline, let’s get started.
