I’m running a study that involves a series of Amharic-language interviews, each one shorter than half an hour, and I need their words captured on paper—accurately, consistently, and fast. Your task is straightforward: listen to each recording, produce a clean verbatim transcript in Amharic, and label speakers clearly so the material is ready for immediate research analysis.
Here’s how the workflow will look: I’ll share encrypted links to the audio files, you’ll transcribe them in Microsoft Word or Google Docs using UTF-8 encoding, insert a timestamp every 60 seconds, and return the file within 48 hours of assignment. Occasional background noise or overlapping dialogue may appear, so a good ear and solid experience with tools such as Express Scribe or oTranscribe will help you keep accuracy above 98 %.
Deliverables (per file)
• Verbatim Amharic transcript with speaker tags
• Timestamps every minute
• One-sentence summary of any audio issues that might affect research coding
I have several recordings queued now, with more expected over the next few weeks. If you’re fluent in Amharic, detail-oriented, and comfortable working remotely, I’d love to see a short sample of your previous work or a one-minute trial on my material so we can confirm fit before we proceed.
