Project Overview

We are looking for an experienced freelance video editor to create a high-impact 60–90 second trailer for an upcoming project.

The trailer needs to be energetic, bold, cinematic, and attention-grabbing, while capturing the personality of the Judge and establishing her as a tough, confident, no-nonsense Judge. The edit should set the overall tone, energy, and excitement of the show and leave the audience wanting more.

Scope of Work

The editor will be responsible for taking the available footage and creating the trailer from start to finish, including:

Review and organize all provided footage.
Select the strongest and most compelling moments.
Build a 60–90 second trailer with a strong narrative and pacing.
Create an energetic, bold, and attention-grabbing edit.
Establish the Judge's personality, authority, and presence.
Use dynamic cuts, pacing, transitions, and visual storytelling where appropriate.
Colour correction and professional colour grading.
Select and edit music that supports the tone and energy of the trailer.
Incorporate appropriate sound design and audio mixing.
Add any necessary titles, graphics, or text elements.
Deliver a polished, professional trailer suitable for 4K streaming delivery.
Provide the final master in the required streaming-service format(s), along with any requested additional export versions.

The Judge should be the central focus. The edit should communicate that she is tough, direct, confident, and in control, while still making the show feel entertaining and exciting.

The trailer should feel like a professional network/streaming-service promotional piece rather than a simple compilation of footage.

Timeline

Priority: ASAP

The project needs to be completed within the next two weeks, with preference given to an editor who can begin immediately and accommodate a fast turnaround.

Required Experience

Applicants must provide proven examples of completed work demonstrating that they can take a project from start to finish, particularly trailers, promos, television, unscripted, documentary, entertainment, or streaming content.

Examples demonstrating professional colour grading.
Examples demonstrating music and sound design.
Confirmation that you can deliver professional 4K masters and streaming-ready formats.

Compensation

Compensation will be based on experience and skill level.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal editor is someone who can take existing footage and independently turn it into a compelling, polished, professional trailer without requiring extensive direction at every stage.

Strong creative instincts, trailer pacing, music selection, sound design, colour grading, and an understanding of how to create excitement within a short runtime are essential.
