I need an experienced field technician in the Anchorage area who can be my on-site hands at Joint Base Elmendorf–Richardson for a federal voice services contract. The work centers on enterprise-grade PBX systems—specifically Cisco Unified Communications Manager—so you should already feel at home provisioning phones, trunks, dial plans and survivable gateways in that environment.

When an outage hits, you will be the first person on the ground, coordinating with our remote Network Operations and engineering teams to trace the fault, swap hardware if required, and restore service quickly. Between incidents, you will keep the plant healthy by installing and configuring new equipment, troubleshooting anything that crops up, and carrying out routine maintenance such as patching, firmware updates and capacity checks.

Because the site is a military installation, reliability and timely response are critical. The engagement will start as an on-call, independent-contractor role; if all goes well and the base’s needs grow, I’m prepared to transition the position into a longer-term opportunity.

If you have solid Cisco UC skills, hands-on experience with VoIP gateways, switches and cabling, and the flexibility to head to JBER at short notice, I’d like to hear how you can keep our lines clear and our users talking.
