Job description
Foolish Engineer is a YouTube channel with 84,000+ subscribers. We make technical explainer videos on electronics. Our viewers are electronics engineers, developers and hobbyists.
We need an electronics engineer with a creative mind to own the technical side of our channel. You will make sure every video is correct, clear and well explained. This is not a social media or growth role.
Contract:
1 month
Remote, with flexible working hours
About 4 videos per month, each 10 to 15 min long
You report directly to the creator
Payment is based on each video idea and the effort you put in
If things go well, we will take you on as longterm partner
What you will do
Research technical topics and help plan video ideas
Work with the creator on scripts and check every technical detail
Turn scripts into clear visual plans for animators and editors, like circuit animations, block diagrams and waveforms
Guide video editors and graphic designers so the visuals are technically correct
Review the final video for technical accuracy before upload
Review sponsor products and technical briefs, and make sure the content stays correct and honest
What we need
A degree or strong background in Electronics Engineering. This is a must
Real hands-on experience with electronics, such as hardware design or embedded systems
Creative experience, such as technical writing, video, animation, design or teaching
Ability to explain hard ideas in simple words
Ability to learn new topics fast
Good written English
Ability to meet deadlines and work with a remote team
Good to have
Experience making content for YouTube, a blog or social media
Basic knowledge of animation tools like After Effects
Before application:
A short note on your electronics experience
A link to anything you have made, such as a video, article, project or design
Your answers to the screening questions
