Technical Illustrator for Science Textbook

Looking for: technical illustrator / diagram artist (freelance, remote)

I am publishing a Science and Technology textbook and need help producing the diagrams.

The work: approximately 125 to 150 technical diagrams for a book. These are explanatory schematics, not artistic illustration — orbital paths, circuit and flow diagrams, labelled cross-sections, block schematics, process flows across physics, space technology, energy, computing and biology.

What I need you to be able to do:

Work in vector software (Illustrator, Inkscape, or similar) and supply editable source files, not just exported images
Work from rough sketches and written descriptions and turn them into clean, precise, labelled figures
Follow a fixed style sheet so all 150 figures look like they belong in the same book — consistent line weights, fonts, label placement
Design for black and white print, using greyscale and line weight rather than colour to distinguish elements
Take revisions without fuss, since figures will go through a few rounds

Helpful but not essential: a science or engineering background, or previous work on textbooks or academic material. If you can read a technical description and understand what it is showing, that saves us both a lot of time.
