Student Career Guidance Mentor

I’m looking for an experienced mentor who can guide my students through effective job-search strategies. The goal is to help them understand how to identify suitable roles, research employers, network with professionals, and position themselves confidently in today’s competitive market.

Key focus
• Teach practical job-search tactics: leveraging LinkedIn, industry forums, career fairs, and alumni networks.
• Show them how to analyse job descriptions so they can tailor applications appropriately.
• Provide actionable weekly tasks they can practise between sessions (e.g., informational interview outreach, targeted company lists).

Format
I prefer live virtual sessions (Zoom, Google Meet, or similar) combined with brief follow-up notes or worksheets. A small group workshop followed by short 1-on-1 check-ins would work well, but I’m open to your approach if it encourages active participation and measurable progress.

Timeframe & cadence
I’d like to start within the next two weeks and run an initial four-week programme, meeting once per week. If the students respond well, we can extend the engagement.

Future scope
While the immediate need is job-search strategy, we may expand later into résumé building and interview preparation, so familiarity with those areas is a plus.
