Structural Engineer of Record (Florida PE) for Industrial Steel Crane Building
Project Overview
We are seeking an experienced Florida Licensed Structural Engineer (PE) or structural engineering firm to serve as the Structural Engineer of Record (EOR) for a new industrial manufacturing facility located in Punta Gorda, Florida.
The project consists of a large steel industrial building with overhead bridge cranes and an attached reinforced masonry office.
The selected engineer will act as the Florida Structural EOR and provide structural engineering, foundation engineering, permit support, and coordination with the steel building supplier.
Civil engineering has been completed and the site development permit has already been issued.
Architectural and MEP drawings are substantially complete and will be provided for coordination.
Project Description
Approximate project components include:
40,000 SF enclosed industrial steel building
Approximate dimensions: 100 ft × 400 ft
Approximately 70 ft building height
Approximately 3,000 SF reinforced CMU office
One 30-ton overhead bridge crane
One 10-ton overhead bridge crane
Crane spans approximately 80-86 ft
Integrated crane runway system
Large overhead doors
Heavy industrial equipment loading
Project Delivery Approach
The steel building may be supplied by a domestic or international steel building manufacturer.
The selected supplier will provide engineered shop drawings and structural calculations for the building system.
The Structural EOR will establish design criteria, review delegated design documents, coordinate structural interfaces, and prepare permit drawings and calculations required for Florida permitting.
Experience working with steel building suppliers and delegated design packages is preferred.

Base plate and anchor bolt design or review

Ground Improvement Coordination
The site is expected to utilize ground improvement measures based on geotechnical recommendations.
The Structural EOR will coordinate foundation design with the geotechnical engineer and ground improvement engineer.
Design of the ground improvement system itself is not required unless specifically proposed by the consultant.
