Stonnington Elevated Deck Plans

I already have a current site survey and now need a full set of working drawings for a new two-story wood deck at the rear of my property in Melbourne. The design must satisfy every requirement in Stonnington City Council’s residential building code, including setbacks, overshadowing and permissible heights.

Key elements of the design
• Structure:one level connected to garden by exterior stairs
• Material palette: treated or durable timber throughout (joists, bearers, decking boards)
• Safety: compliant timber railings.
• Amenity: integrated pergola for shade and weather protection with the intention of installing a vergola roof system.

Deliverables I’m expecting
• Architectural and structural plans (floor plans, elevations, sections, footing details) ready for council submission in PDF plus editable CAD/DWG
• Engineering notes and calculations to demonstrate compliance with AS 1684/AS 1720 or equivalent Victorian standards
• A concise materials schedule for timber sizes, hardware and finishes
• Any shadow diagrams or articulation schedules Stonnington typically requests

I will send the site survey in DWG and PDF along with council checklists as soon as we start. Please factor in one round of revisions after the first council feedback so we can secure the permit smoothly.
