Convert STL Files to Clean CAD / STEP Models
I have a number of STL files that need to be converted/rebuilt into proper CAD models.
The STL files are the only source files available, so this will require reverse engineering of the STL mesh into clean CAD geometry.
Required Deliverables
* Clean STEP (.step / .stp) file for each STL supplied
* Proper solid CAD geometry — not simply the STL triangles converted into STEP faces
* Smooth curved/cylindrical surfaces where applicable
* Holes, radii, fillets and other features recreated accurately
* Models should be suitable for:
* CNC machining
* Further CAD modification
* Scaling/resizing
* Manufacturing
Where practical, I would also like the editable native CAD file (SolidWorks, Fusion 360, Inventor, etc.).
Important
Please do not bid if your process is simply Mesh → BRep → STEP, leaving thousands of triangular faces.
I am looking for someone experienced in reverse engineering STL/mesh models into clean CAD solids/surfaces.
The original STL geometry and dimensions should be maintained as accurately as possible.
When bidding, please tell me:
1. Which CAD software you will use.
2. Whether the final STEP files will contain clean reconstructed surfaces.
3. Whether you can provide the editable/native CAD files as well.
4. Your price per model or price for the complete batch.
5. Estimated turnaround time.
I can provide the STL files for review before the final price is agreed.
