We're looking to bring on two dedicated team members to help keep our kitchen and facility running smoothly, a Steward and a Utility worker. While each role has its own focus, both are essential to creating a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for our customers, clients, and staff.
Position 1: Steward
As a Steward, you'll be the face of hospitality on the floor, someone who genuinely enjoys interacting with people and takes pride in going above and beyond for every customer. You'll greet guests and colleagues with warmth and professionalism, and when a customer has a specific request, you'll approach it with a solutions-first mindset rather than just following a script.
Beyond guest interactions, you'll take ownership of quality and safety checks, keeping accurate temperature logs throughout your shift and flagging any inconsistencies before they become bigger issues. You'll need to genuinely know the products on offer, not just memorize a list, so you can speak to them confidently. Staying compliant with fire, health, and hygiene regulations will be second nature to you, and if you ever spot a safety concern, whether it's a near miss or something more serious, you'll feel comfortable raising it with your manager right away. At the end of the day (and throughout it), you'll leave your workspace spotless, disposing of waste properly and resetting the area for the next person.
Position 2: Utility
The Utility role is all about the behind-the-scenes work that keeps everything functioning. You'll be responsible for thoroughly cleaning and sanitizing kitchen equipment, utensils, and prep surfaces, following established health and safety procedures every step of the way. Whether it's running the dishwashing machine or scrubbing pots and pans by hand, you'll make sure everything is spotless and ready for use.
You'll also help manage the practical side of kitchen operations, taking out waste, keeping recycling and garbage areas tidy, and making sure storage rooms and refrigerators stay organized and well-stocked. A big part of your day will involve following cleaning routines like sweeping, mopping, and disinfecting surfaces, along with keeping an eye on sanitation supplies like soap, paper towels, and hand sanitizer, restocking them before they run low. If you notice anything that needs a maintenance fix or poses a safety risk, you'll flag it to your supervisor right away so it doesn't become a bigger problem.
